Practical Evening – ‘Painting with Light’

You can create light patterns using moving LED torches and long camera exposures.
You need to prepare the items you will need and bring them with you.
It is probably easier if you work in groups of 3 or 4.

Some items you may need:
Several various small LED torches.
Camera + Tripod.
A4 Black card.
Strong string or twine.
Gaffer tape or similar strong tape.
Colour filters (translucent toffee papers are good)

Success depends on knowing how to use your camera manually and being creative. Set up your camera on a tripod.
Focus manually at your subject distance.
Try starting with the following camera settings – ISO.100 - f8.
Manual shutter set to long time exposure or BULB,
Make sure you know how to make all these settings on your camera – don’t waste time learning how to use your camera on the night!
